Carolyn Jacobs

Carolyn Jacobs is a coach, mediator, educator, and writer whose work is grounded in family dispute resolution. Carolyn supports people navigating separation, divorce, co-parenting, and family transition, with particular attention to conflict communication and durable parenting plans. Her work is guided by the value of clarity, constructive dialogue, and thoughtful preparation for difficult conversations and challenging decisions.

Through Keep Slowing, Carolyn provides individual and joint coaching and mediation. She also presents workshops and speaks on co-parenting, family transition, and conflict communication.

Carolyn brings substantial training and leadership to her work. She holds credentials as a DCA Certified ADR Divorce Coach, DCA Pre-Mediation Divorce Coach, CDC Certified Divorce Coach, and Mosten Guthrie Certified Co-Parenting Specialist. Her mediation training includes two separate family mediation programs, including DRPA-compliant training through graduate-level coursework. In addition to her private practice, Carolyn is a Mentor Coach and Evaluator with Divorce Coaches Academy.

Through Conversations that Contribute, a public education series that raises funds for nonprofits through low-barrier education, Carolyn creates programming that brings expert insight to parents and professionals who support children and families. Conversations that Contribute is a regular supporter of Kids Managing Conflict (KMC). Carolyn serves on the Board of Directors of KMC, a 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization that strengthens and funds peer mediation programs in K–12 schools.

Carolyn’s private practice, public education, and writing focus on productive engagement in conflict within families and communities. Across these roles, Carolyn brings a practice-based perspective, interdisciplinary training, and a sustained commitment to helping families engage with greater intention.
