Conversations that Contribute, November 2026
Power, Conflict, and Connection: A Conversation with Bill Eddy
60 Minutes, via Zoom, Wednesday, November 4, at 1 pm PT / 3 pm CT / 4 pm ET
Conversations that Contribute is especially proud to welcome Bill Eddy, a singular voice in high-conflict communication, for a discussion hosted by Keep Slowing founder Carolyn Jacobs.
Inherent asymmetries of actual and perceived power shape the dynamics of communication and conflict. Between adults, this might be employer and employee, coach and athlete, or law enforcement and civilian.
In adult-youth dynamics, power differentials are bound up with authority, dependence, and developing capacities for judgment, autonomy, and self-regulation. Within this frame, how might parents, educators, and family dispute resolution professionals approach communication and conflict in ways that preserve both self-respect and respect for young people, while fostering their capacity to engage in constructive dialogue?
